Simple History 5.15.0 released – Email Reports for all users and Core Files Integrity monitoring

The Email Reports feature, previously available only as an experimental feature, is now enabled for all Simple History users. This release also includes the new Core Files Integrity Logger for enhanced security monitoring.

Email Reports

Weekly email reports provide a convenient way to monitor website activity without logging into each site. The reports are sent Monday mornings and include a summary of recent events, making it particularly useful for agencies and users managing multiple WordPress sites.

Key features:

  • Weekly email delivery every Monday morning
  • Customizable recipient list
  • Clean, scannable email format
  • Preview functionality to test emails with live data
  • Opt-in system – you control who receives reports

Getting started:

  1. Navigate to Simple History → Settings → Email Reports
  2. Check “Enable weekly email reports”
  3. Add recipient email addresses
  4. Save settings

Use the “Preview email” button to see how reports will look with your actual site data, or send a test email to verify delivery.

Core Files Integrity Logger

This release introduces a new security logger that automatically performs daily checksum verification on WordPress core files. If any core files have been modified, the logger will detect and record these changes, helping identify potential security issues. If the checksum of a modified file is restored, you will also get a log message about that.

The Core Files Integrity Logger is automatically enabled and requires no additional configuration.
