Stats and Summaries

Simple History counts what happens on your site, so you can see what normal looks like — and notice when a day isn’t normal. There are two places it shows up: a sidebar next to the log, and a full dashboard.

History Insights — the sidebar next to your log

Free, and switched on already. The box next to the main activity log keeps a running count of what has been logged:

• How many events today, in the last 7 days, and in the last 30 days
• Who has been most active over the last 30 days
• A graph of daily activity for the last 30 days
• The total number of events since you installed the plugin

The graph is the useful part. A spike or a sudden drop is visible at a glance, and you can jump straight to that day to see what caused it.

Stats & Summaries — the full dashboard

A Premium feature. Where the sidebar answers “how much happened”, the dashboard answers “what kind of thing happened, and who did it”.

• Charts: which days and hours your site is actually busy
• Users: logins, failed logins, profile changes, accounts added and removed
• Content: what got published, edited and deleted — and who uploaded what
• Plugins: every install, activation, deactivation, update and deletion
• Any date range: not just the last month — including “This year” and “Last year” for annual reviews

Useful when someone asks a question the log alone answers slowly: whether logins really did spike last month, who is publishing the most, or how much plugin churn a site has had over a year.

History Insights sits beside the log at Simple History in the admin menu. Stats & Summaries has its own page under Simple History → Stats & Summaries once Premium is active.
